Prior to Cre recombination, cell membrane-localized tdTomato (mT) fluorescence expression is widespread in cells/tissues. Cre recombinase expressing cells (and future cell lineages derived from these cells) have cell membrane-localized EGFP (mG) fluorescence expression replacing the red fluorescence.
