The endogenous Nps promoter directs expression of Cre recombinase to neurons in the amygdala and in the brain stem near the parabrachial nucleus (PB) involved in wakefulness and anxiety-related behaviors. These mice are useful for studying the connectivity and function of NPS neurons.
