Each outcome results in expression of both a membrane-bound fluorescent protein and a chromatin/nuclear-localized fluorescent protein, and each is mutually exclusive and permanent. These mice are also designed to permit further introduction of genes of interest for inducible, fluorescent and functional genetic mosaic analysis (ifgMosaic or Dual ifgMosaic).
